Parish Council

The Parish Council is currently experiencing problems with this current website and is in the process of setting up a new one. It is expected that this will be completed in the next month or so.

At the Full Parish Council Meeting of Wednesday 4 January 2017, all members present AGREED to seek the approval of the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government to apply for a PWLB loan of £12,000 up to 9.5 years to replace all the streetlights within the parish area with more efficient units. The annual loan repayments will come to around £1,360. In addition, the council is also increasing the parish precept by 6.66% which is the equivalent to an extra £2.54 to support the Lyth Hill Country Park. Please confirm whether you are in favour of this increase by 25th April 2018.

The Parish Council

The Parish Council meets every first Wednesday in the month, except August. The meetings start at 7:30pm and are held in the Village Hall in Longden. Every meeting has a familiar agenda covering planning applications, highway matters, finance, parish plan reports, Local Joint Committee reports and of course parish matters in general. There is at the start of the meeting an opportunity for any parishioner to make a public comment. Generally parishioners turn up when there is a planning application that they have an interest in, however, the Parish Council would like more parishioners to participate in the meetings by bringing their points of view to the monthly meeting.
